THE COUNCIL PROMOTED ARTS EDUCATION IN 10 SCHOOL DISTRICTS BY AWARDING 12 GRANTS TO SUPPLEMENT THE ARTS EDUCATION ALREADY BEING PROVIDED TO AREA STUDENTS. PROJECT EXAMPLES INCLUDE, BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO, ARTIST RESIDENCIES, ARTS EDUCATION FIELD TRIPS, AND OTHER NON-CURRICULUM ARTS ACTIVITIES. THE COUNCIL AWARDED 5 GRANTS TO 4 ORGANIZATIONS WHO WERE EITHER A FIRST- TIME APPLICANT OR A GROUP WISHING TO TAKE ADVANTAGE OF A LATE BREAKING OPPORTUNITY. THE COUNCIL HELD A CELEBRATION OF THE ARTS AWARDS EVENT IN MARCH TO HONOR THE PREVIOUS YEAR'S MASTER ARTISTS AND AWARD WINNERS FROM CASS, CROW WING, MORRISON, TODD AND WADENA COUNTIES. |
