Part I, Line 2: NLSLA contracts with legal aid and community based partners to provide legal services. Prior to contracting with grant recipients, NLSLA and the grantee agree to terms and conditions in a detailed contract or Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) which reflects the contract amount, period of service, scope of work, and the billing, review and payment process. NLSLA obtains and approves a project budget and generally requests detailed invoices with supporting service and expenditure documentation prior to reimbursing grantees for services rendered in accordance with the terms and period specified in the MOU.
