Grantmaker's Description of How Grants are Used THE GRANT COMMITTEE OF THE ASSOCIATION SOLICITS GRANT REQUESTS FROM LOWELL FACULTY, COACHES AND ADMINISTRATORS. THE APPROVED GRANTS ARE TYPICALLY FUNDED EITHER BY DIRECT PAYMENT FROM THE ASSOCIATION TO THE VENDOR, OR BY REIMBURSEMENT FROM THE ASSOCIATION TO THE FACULTY MEMBER UPON PRESENTATION OF PAID RECEIPTS FOR SERVICES OR EQUIPMENT. IN ADDITION, THE ASSOCIATION, IN PARTNERSHIP WITH THE PTSA, ALSO PROVIDES FUNDS FOR ADDITIONAL TEACHERS, COUNSELORS, AND LIBRARIANS OVER AND ABOVE THE STAFFING LEVELS PROVIDED BY THE SAN FRANCISCO UNIFIED SCHOOL DISTRICT. THESE FUNDS ARE DEPOSITED INTO A TRUST ACCOUNT HELD BY THE SCHOOL DISTRICT DESIGNATED FOR ADDITIONAL STAFFING AT LOWELL HIGH SCHOOL, WHICH IS MONITORED BY THE LOWELL ALUMNI ASSOCIATION AND THE LOWELL PTSA LEADERSHIP THROUGH REGULAR MEETINGS WITH THE PRINCIPAL.
