THE MAINE COALITION TO END DOMESTIC VIOLENCE (MCEDV) MOBILIZES COLLABORATIVE COMMUNITY ACTION WITH AND ON BEHALF OF A STATEWIDE NETWORK OF DOMESTIC VIOLENCE RESOURCE CENTERS TO ENSURE THAT ALL PEOPLE AFFECTED BY DOMESTIC ABUSE AND VIOLENCE IN MAINE ARE RESTORED TO SAFETY AND THAT PERPETRATORS ARE HELD ACCOUNTABLE. MCEDV BUILDS PARTNERSHIPS THAT PROMOTE PUBLIC POLICY, EDUCATION, AND SYSTEMS ADVOCACY TO CREATE AND ENCOURAGE A SOCIAL, POLITICAL, AND ECONOMIC ENVIRONMENT THAT FOSTERS COMMUNITIES WHERE THE DIVERSITY, DIGNITY AND CONTRIBUTIONS OF ALL ARE RESPECTED AND CELEBRATED, AND DOMESTIC ABUSE AND VIOLENCE NO LONGER EXIST. |

CURRENT MEMBERSHIP IS COMPRISED OF THE EIGHT DOMESTIC VIOLENCE RESOURCE CENTERS IN THE STATE OF MAINE. MEMBERSHIP SHALL BE OPEN TO ANY NOT-FOR- PROFIT, FULL SERVICE DOMESTIC VIOLENCE RESOURCE CENTER ORGANIZED IN THE STATE OF MAINE FOR THE PRIMARY PURPOSE OF PROVIDING DOMESTIC VIOLENCE AND/OR DOMESTIC VIOLENCE AND SEXUAL ASSAULT SERVICES FOR INDIVIDUALS, FAMILIES AND COMMUNITIES AFFECTED BY DOMESTIC ABUSE, OR A PROGRAM OF A TRIBAL GOVERNMENT IN THE STATE OF MAINE THAT EXISTS FOR THE PRIMARY PURPOSE OF PROVIDING DOMESTIC VIOLENCE AND/OR DOMESTIC VIOLENCE AND SEXUAL ASSAULT SERVICES FOR INDIVIDUALS, FAMILIES AND COMMUNITIES AFFECTED BY DOMESTIC ABUSE. |

BOARD MEMBERSHIP NOMINATION PROCESS A SLATE OF BOARD MEMBERS REPRESENTING THE ORGANIZATIONS DIVERSE CONSTITUENCY WILL BE NOMINATED BY THE BOARD GOVERNANCE COMMITTEE. MEMBER PROGRAMS WILL PROVIDE NOMINATIONS TO THE BOARD GOVERNANCE COMMITTEE AT LEAST 60 DAYS PRIOR TO THE ANNUAL MEETING. THAT SLATE OF CANDIDATES WILL BE PROVIDED TO THE MEMBERSHIP AT LEAST 30 DAYS PRIOR TO THE ANNUAL MEETING AND SUBSEQUENTLY PRESENTED AT THE ANNUAL MEETING FOR APPROVAL BY THE MEMBER ORGANIZATIONS. APPROVAL WILL BE SIGNED BY A SIMPLE MAJORITY OF THE MEMBERSHIP PRESENT AT THE MEETING BOARD OFFICER ELECTION. THERE SHALL BE FOUR OFFICERS OF THE BOARD, CONSISTING OF CAHIR, ASSISTANT-CHAIR, SECRETARY, AND TREASURER. THE OFFICERS OF THE BOARD SHALL BE ELECTED BY A MAJORITY VOTE OF THE MEMBERSHIP OF THE BOARD, WITH EACH BOARD MEMBER CASTING A VOTE IN PERSON OR ELECTRONICALLY. |
