PART I, LINE 2: PRIOR TO AN INVESTMENT BEING AWARDED TO A GRANTEE, GMS DOES DEEP DUE DILIGENCE, INCLUDING LEADERSHIP INTERVIEWS, SITE VISITS, FINANCIAL REVIEWS, MEETINGS WITH THE GOVERNANCE BOARDS, AND REVIEWS OF OPERATIONAL AND ACADEMIC PROCESSES AND RESULTS. EACH INVESTMENT AWARDED HAS A GRANT AGREEMENT THAT INCLUDES A SET OF MULTI-YEAR MILESTONES. SCHOOLS REPORT OUT ON THEIR MILESTONES PER THE TERMS OF THE GRANT AGREEMENT (AT LEAST ANNUALLY). GMS ALSO MEETS WITH THE SCHOOL LEADERSHIP ON A REGULAR BASIS, AND PROVIDES STRATEGIC GUIDANCE AS SUPPORT AS NEEDED, TO ENSURE THE SCHOOLS' ONGOING SUCCESS. FOR PLANNING GRANTS, GMS SUPPORTS THE SCHOOL IN A PLANNING PROCESS, INCLUDING REGULAR CHECK-INS. THE DELIVERABLE OF THOSE GRANTS IS A STRATEGIC GROWTH PLAN. ALL GRANTS / INVESTMENTS ARE APPROVED BY THE GMS BOARD.
