SCHEDULE I, PART III: NCAA SAF GRANT MONIES ARE DISBURSED TO STUDENT-ATHLETES OF THE HORIZON LEAGUE AT THE REQUEST OF OUR MEMBER INSTITUTIONS ATHLETIC DEPARTMENTS. THESE ATHLETIC DEPARTMENTS ARE RESPONSIBLE FOR ENSURING THAT SAF FUNDS ARE USED FOR NCAA-APPROVED PURPOSES. AT THE END OF EACH FISCAL YEAR, THESE ATHLETIC DEPARTMENTS REPORT TO THE LEAGUE ON HOW THE SAF FUNDS WERE SPENT AND ON THE NUMBER OF STUDENT-ATHLETES WHO BENEFITED FROM THE FUNDS. IN JUNE, THE LEAGUE FILES AN ANNUAL REPORT WITH THE NCAA WHICH SHOWS HOW SAF FUNDS WERE SPENT AND THE NUMBER OF STUDENT-ATHLETES BENEFITING.
