Return Reference Explanation
Grantmaker's Description of How Grants are Used Goodwill of the Olympics and Rainier Region receives restricted grants for programs and for scholarship gifts for clients that are disadvantaged and yet not eligible for government supported programs. Annually Goodwill of the Olympics and Rainier Region reviews the funding available for scholarships and the nature and types that are provided. When the funding available is determined, case workers assess the assistance needs of program clients and submit a request for scholarship support which is approved or denied by the program manager. The use of funds is reported to the Goodwill of the Olympics and Rainier Region Board monthly on the financial statements.For Subrecipient grants: Grants are prepared, reviewed, submitted, and signed by the subrecipient grantee and Goodwill of the Olympics and Rainier Region. The grant agreement discloses the requirements of the grant. Billings for allowable expenses are submitted monthly by the subrecipient grantee. The billings are reviewed for qualification. Allowable expenses are paid to the subrecipient grantee. The total grant distributions are monitored on a monthly basis. Site visits by Goodwill of the Olympics and Rainier Region are performed in order to audit program and fiscal adherence.
