ACP strives to recruit highly motivated and experienced individuals at all levels of the organization, including staff and governance positions. Compensation for services provided by these individuals should reflect the requirements of the job and the value of the individual to the organization, and be competitive with similar positions at comparable organizations. Compensation of elected Officers and Exexuctive Vice President is determied as follows: 1. The Compensation Committee, periodically, but not less frequently than every three years, requests Human Resources staff to engage a qualified third party to perform a compensation survey of elected governance officers and the Executive Vice President/Chief Executive Officer(EVP/CEO), or similar level positions, at comparable organizations. 2. Considering the results of the compensation survey, the CC reviews the current compensation of officers and the EVP/CEO and recommends to the Finance Policy and Audit Committee (FPAC) and the Board of Regents (BOR) any adjustments determined to be necessary. 3. Per the annual cycle for determining the EVP/CEO's performance, compensation and bonus, approved by the BOR in April 2016, the BOR Chair and Immediate Past Chair conduct the annual review of the EVP/CEO, based on goals set for the EVP/CEO in May of the previous year by the then-current BOR Chair and Chair-elect, considering ACP's strategic plan for the upcoming year. The BOR Chair and Immediate Past Chair recommend a salary and bonus amount for the EVP/CEO to the CC, who makes a recommendation to the BOR. The BOR Chair recommends the final salary and bonus amount for the EVP/CEO to the BOR in Executive Session. 4. The CC may periodically review and recommend to the FPAC and/or BOR compensable items for elected representatives and other non-employees traveling on business for ACP. |
