Form 990, Part III, Line 4d: Other Program Services Description OTHER PROGRAM SERVICES 4: Other program services include "Resale Shops", which provide clothing and household items for the needy and by selling donated items to cover program expenses.
Form 990, Part VI, Line 11b: Form 990 Review Process The Executive Director reviews a draft of the Form 990 for accuracy and completeness, and for compatibility with the audited financial statements. The 990 is presented to the Finance Committee of the Board of Directors for review and discussion. As approved by the Committee, the 990 is presented to the Board of Directors at the next meeting. The Board of Directors, along with the Executive Director, meets with the auditor to discuss any questions about the audit or the 990.
Form 990, Part VI, Line 12c: Explanation of Monitoring and Enforcement of Conflicts The Conflict of Interest Policy is a written policy, incorporated in the by-laws and governing documents of the organization. These policies are reviewed continually for compliance with current requirements or regulations. On an annual basis, each Director reviews the policy, and any conflicts of interest are to be disclosed when they arise.
Form 990, Part VI, Line 15a: Compensation Review & Approval Process - CEO, Top Management Salaries and wages are determined by the Executive Committee of the Board of Directors. The Committee uses industry surveys, information from the Michigan Department of Labor, the Michigan Compensation Report for Nonprofits and Public Employees and any other relevent reports. Based on this information, the Committee recommends an annual maximum percentage increase for personnel throughout the Center. The Board of Directors has the final approval.In regards to the Executive Director, the Executive Committee uses information from the "Michigan Board and Administrator's Annual Nonprofit Executive Compensation Report" combined with an annual performance review to recommend any increase in salary. The entire Board has final approval on any increase.
Form 990, Part VI, Line 15b: Compensation Review and Approval Process for Officers and Key Employees There are no officers whom are paid. Key employee compensation is not approved by the Board individually, but is included on the salary schedule. The salary schedule is reviewed and approved by the Board of Directors when it is updated, generally at the beginning of each fiscal year.
Form 990, Part VI, Line 19: Other Organization Documents Publicly Available The Center has a policy to comply with all laws and regulations regarding public disclosure of governance documents, conflict of interest policy, and financial statements. Thus, the Center makes these documents available for full inspection upon request. In addition, the annual report contains an abbreviated copy of the audited financial information. The annual report is distributed publicly and is available on the Center's website.
