Working together with our Board member who oversaw the hiring process, we looked at median salary ranges for the CEO and key employees based on the size of the organization and employee's experience level. We consulted with or reviewed data from the Center for Non-Profit Advancement, the Non-Profit Times, PayScale, and Charity Navigator. We also spoke with other similarly-sized well-run organizations in our space for their advice. |

During 2020, MAP received an unusually large grant. MAP's Board of Directors voted to create a Board-designated operating reserve from this grant to support capacity building and outreach services. The Board-designated operating reserve will be invested according to MAP's investment policy, and funds will be used to achieve sustainable and strategic operational growth. MAP considers the Board-designated operating reserve and net assets with donor restrictions for use in current programs, which are ongoing, major, and central to its annual operations, to be available to meet cash needs for general expenditures. |
