Form 990, Part VI, Line 11b: Form 990 Review Process | The tax return is prepared by an outside accounting firm. After completion of said returns, the organization is sent a draft of the tax returns to be reviewed and examined. The organization makes copies of the returns and distributes to those individuals charged with governance. Those individuals at that time can review and if applicable discuss any line items in the return with the accountant who has prepared the return. If all items are found to be acceptable, an authorization is signed and provided to authorize the outside accounting firm to process, sign and provide copies of the returns to be filed (paper or electronically) with the designated governmental agencies. The tax returns are then signed by the organization, stamped and mailed with certified return receipt or the signed form 8879 is provided to the outside accounting firm allowing electronic filing. |
Form 990, Part VI, Line 12c: Explanation of Monitoring and Enforcement of Conflicts | All new board members and new employees are given a copy of our Conflict of Interest policy. They are informed that they must disclose if they have a conflict with TYFS to the board of directors upon immediately recognizing it. Also, at the Annual meeting Board members are again reminded of this policy and explained what the expectations must be if they find themselves in this situation.Disclosure Required: No director of this corporation nor any other corporation, firm association, other entity in which one or more of this corporations directors have a financial interest, shall be interested, directly or indirectly, in any contract or transaction with this corporation. Once disclosed it will require a majority of the board members then in office to authorize this transaction.Loans to Directors: This corporation shall not lend any money or property to or guarantee the obligation of any director or officer without the approval of the CA Attorney General; this advance would be determined only if the advance money was for reasonable expenses of the corporation and were incurred in the performance of his or her duties of that director or officer would be entitled to reimbursement. |
