In December, Reading is Power, in collaboration with Richland Library, Columbia Housing Authority and University of South Carolina professor and childrens book author Dianne Johnson-Feelings, donated 969 books that created 70 home libraries. The home libraries were delivered just before Christmas to 70 well deserving 1st graders that live in homes managed by Columbia Housing Authority. The purpose of the project was to encourage these childrens love of books and reading.
