Return Reference Explanation
PART I, LINE 2 Applications are reviewed by the Organization's Grant Committee. This committee is comprised of active SEALs and other individuals, and together they review each application to determine if the applicant meets the Organization's guidelines. A copy of these guidelines is available on the Organization's website at www.seallegacy.org/grants.html. The committee also verifies that the families asking for assistance are directly related to any fallen/wounded SEAL. Once a request is deemed to have met the guidelines, a vote is taken to approve or deny it. Every effort is made to pay an institution or vendor rather than the individual grantee. For example, grants for funeral arrangements, mortgage and rent payments, health expenses, and education are paid directly to funeral homes, banks, lease offices, and schools where possible.
