Form 990-EZ, Part I, Line 16	Friends of Big Island Drug Court, Inc. is a group of Board members who volunteer to support the participants of Big Island Drug Court and Veterans Treatment Court, on Hawai'i Island. Our mission is to support these participants with community resources, and to seek and acquire funding to assist with program goals. Our vision is that every participant lives an alcohol and drug-free lifestyle and becomes a successful individual within our community. We secure funding through Hawai'i County, private foundations, community partners and individual contributors. Funds assist the participants with program support (i.e. clothing, education and job training, identification, transportation, hygiene kits, care packages, housing assistance and preventative services), so they may be successful in advancing through the program. We also provide incentives in the form of gift cards to recognize goal achievements, and we support community events and graduations by assisting with additional expenses (i.e. leis for the graduates, gift bags for recognition and appreciation). Funding also covers operating expenses such as general liability and directors and officers insurance, postal service fees, registration fees, and general office supplies.
