APTS has two classes of membership: Station members: An organization operating as a noncommercial educational broadcast television station. Station members are entitled to one vote on certain matters as set in bylaws. Associate members do not have voting rights. |

Trustees of APTS are required to complete and update on an annual basis a form describing certain required disclosures, including any current positions held, investments, previous employment, and any other information potentially relevant to compliance with the APTS ethical conduct statement (the entity's conflict of interest policy). The Trustees approve the ethical conduct statement. Completed disclosures are reviewed and retained with the General Counsel. If a conflict is found, the Trustees will decide if conduct or interests of the Trustee in question may be restricted. The Trustees or a committee of the Trustees will review and approve all such restrictions. |

An independent compensation firm is hired to perform a compensation survey of similar organizations to determine a range of salaries for each position within the organization. The compensation is typically targeted at the mid-point amount. When an employment contract is up for renewal, an independent compensation firm is hired to perform another compensation survey to set salaries for the next contract. The CEO's compensation and contract is subject to Board approval. |
