THE SECOND LEVEL OF REVIEW AND APPROVAL IS PERFORMED BY THE INTERNAL AFFAIRS COMMITTEE. THE THIRD LEVEL IS A VOTE TO SUBMIT THE RETURN BY THE BOARD OF TRUSTEES. |

COMPENSATION PROCESS FOR TOP OFFICIAL: YEARLY GOALS ARE SET BY THE BOARD OF TRUSTEES AND ACCOMPLISHMENT OF THESE GOALS DETERMINE COMPENSATION FOR THE CEO. COMPENSATION CHANGES ARE DETERMINED BY THE EXECUTIVE COMMITTEE USING NONPROFIT CEO COMPENSATION STUDIES AND ARE VOTED/APPROVED BY THE BOARD. COMPENSATION PROCESS FOR OFFICERS: A COMPENSATION STUDY OF SENIOR STAFF SALARIES WAS CONDUCTED USING SURVEY DATA COMPILED BY THE ASSOCIATION OF SCIENCE-TECHNOLOGY (ASTC) AND THE ASSOCIATION OF CHILDREM'S MUSEUMS (ACM), ALONG WITH A REVIEW OF OTHER COLUMBIA NON-PROFIT DATA. THE DATA REFLECTED A WIDE RANGE OF MUSEUM AND NON-PROFIT SIZES, TYPES AND LOCATIONS. ALL DATA WERE LINKED TO EDVENTURE'S SPECIFIC POSITIONS BASED ON THE FOLLOWING CRITERIA: TYPE OF INSTITUTION, LOCATION, OPERATING EXPENSE, NUMBER OF EMPLOYEES AND INSTITION AGE. BASED ON THE EVALUATION OF THESE CRITERIA, A SALARY STRUCTURE WAS COMPILED FOR EDVENTURE'S STAFF. IT IS REVIEWED ANNUALLY AND UPDATED AS NECESSARY. COMPENSATION DISCUSSIONS ARE DOCUMENTED. |
