Form 990, Part III, Line 4d Program Service Expenses 35,821, Grants and allocations 0, Revenue 0 FINANCIAL PLANNING FOR CANCER PATIENTS CENTS continued its partnership with the Fred Hutchinson Cancer Research Center on two human subjects research studies to minimize the negative financial impacts that can accompany a cancer diagnosis. We want to assist the patients in the study and we hope our findings will lead to a program that can be scaled up at various locations to help additional patients. CENTS has helped over 30 patients through these studies so far.
Form 990, Part III, Line 4d Program Service Expenses 672, Grants and allocations 0, Revenue 0 DEBT CLINIC The Debt Clinic has continued to offer telephonic or remote assistance. CENTS helps recruit and train the volunteer attorneys for the King County Bar Associations Debt Clinic, which provides people the opportunity to speak to an experienced bankruptcy attorney free-of-charge for 30 minutes. In a typical year, the Debt Clinic helps approximately 500 people obtain pro bono legal advice.
Form 990, Part III, Line 4d Program Service Expenses 18,054, Grants and allocations 0, Revenue 0 STUDENT LOAN DEBT NAVIGATION EVENTS In 2022, CENTS provided a Student Loan Debt Navigation Event SDNE to 30 teachers and a second to over 50 employees of the King County Development Disabilities and Early Childhood Supports Division. CENTS also provided a third training in Whatcom County to 25 community providers. The SLDNEs help people better manage their exisiting student loan debt. CENTS has also created a video of the presentation and placed it on a YOUTube channel, which is accessible on CENTS website.
Form 990, Part III, Line 4d Program Service Expenses 1,921, Grants and allocations 0, Revenue 0 MONEY STEPS CENTS provided eight classes in 2022 for Pallet Shelters. Many of Pallet Shelters employees have experienced incarceration and/or addiction challenges. CENTS classes were aimed to empower the employees to take control of their financial situation.
