Form 990, Part V, Line 2a: Tandem, a professional employer organization, files all required payroll information returns on behalf of Caris Pregnancy Counseling and Resources. As such, the number of employees reported represent the number of employees who work for Caris. Caris reimburses the professional employment organization for the employees' compensation and the reimbursements are reported on 990 Part VII, Section A and 990 Part IX, Lines 5-10.
Form 990, Part VI, Section B, line 11b The Form 990 is prepared by an independent CPA firm and reviewed in detail by the Board Treasurer and internal management. A copy is also provided to the Board prior to filing with the IRS.
Form 990, Part VI, Section B, line 12c The conflict of interest policy is reviewed annually at the Board of Directors meeting. Both board members and officers sign the policy. Disclosures are made to the Executive Director who brings the matters to the Board's attention. Should any potential conflicts of interest be disclosed, the board member or officer would be asked to refrain from participation in any deliberation or decision with regard to matters affected by the relationship.
Form 990, Part VI, Section B, line 15 Compensation review and salary increases for the organization's Executive Director are established and approved by the Board of Director members annually. This is done after a salary review of comparable positions at other ministries. This process is documented in the Board minutes.
