Compensation offered to the organization's Executive Director is established by an independent third party consultant. This consultant conducts a study of similar organizations in similar industries when determining appropriate salary and benefits for the position. Independent members of the board discuss and approve the compensation package, and a written employment contract is put into place. This process take place on an annual basis. The board of Directors entrusts the Executive Director with determining compensation for other officers of the organization.
