Schedule I, Part I, Line 2 MEC uses competitive proposals or competitive applications to select grantees. On a project basis, we maintain records for solicitation, selection, negotiation, contract agreements and amendments, require extensive records to validate expenditures on a project, conduct visual inspections and site visits when required, maintain accounting data using GAAP and following standards compliant with federal regulation on grants and agreements, including Single Audit. On a project basis, we also conduct regular calls or other meetings with recipients and funders to head off looming risks, capture success stories and best practices, and generally provide technical assistance as needed.
