Part 1 Question 1;Part III Question 1;Part III Question 4a Supplement |
San Marino Community Athletics Association ("SMCAA") was formed to further and promote the development of amateur sports education and programs for the residents of San Marino (and for students who attend or are eligible to attend San Marino schools) through organization, training, and education; to promote good sportsmanship and good citizenship; to aid, administer, assist and teach various sports for pleasure, recreational and other non-profitable purposes; to organize youth sports teams to compete and participate in sporting competitions; to conduct programs that provide for, enhance and strengthen participation, education and competition for amateur athletics; and to work with other sports organizations to benefit programs for amateur athletics. Programs include a youth flag football program and a youth basketball program. These two programs teach participants the fundamental skills necessary to sucessfully play the sports and enhance participation in these sports as the athletes mature by providing clinics and competitions for athletes and coaches to ensure successful skill acquisition. The programs focus on providing high quality instruction to the participants to ensure better prepared athletes for our high school sports as well as promote the positive community and individual aspects of sports participation by teaching and modeling good sportsmanship and citizenship. The programs are for those entering 3rd grade (4th grade for basketball) through 8th grade. Volunteer coaches are provided with instructional clinics and other opportunities to improve their knowledge and methods of instruction. All participants are provided with opportunities to attend special skills clinics to develop and improve their individual abilities. |
