Today, along with my @TheBlackCaucus colleagues, I proudly introduced the Justice in Policing Act of 2020 to help address the racial injustice and police brutality in our country and communities.
This bill will create accountability and transparency by: ✅ Banning choke-holds ✅ Banning no-knock warrants ✅ Creating a national database of police misconduct
It's a tough few weeks for many of us. I am inspired by how many people have come together to peacefully call for change. I’m working to make necessary reforms in how we address police misconduct & how we hold police forces accountable to the communities they’ve sworn to protect
