The Architect (AOC) is nominated by POTUS but is actually selected by a commission of 14 members, that for the current AOC, included @SpeakerPelosi, @SenSchumer, @RepZoeLofgren, @AmyKlobuchar, @SenatorLeahy, @LeaderHoyer and @AppropsDems. The current AOC was a consensus choice.
