In Congress, we passed a bill to allow Medicare to negotiate prescription drug prices to lower the cost of drugs, cap the price that seniors for their drugs, and cap the price of insulin for Medicare recipients. @barrettbrigade1 said he would have voted no.#MI07

These institutions both offer comprehensive cybersecurity programs and certifications for young people, so they can fill the nearly 11,000 open cybersecurity jobs here in Michigan and nearly 600,000 openings nationwide, and secure well-paying jobs that fulfill a crucial mission.
Today, our local organizations like K-12 schools and small businesses are constantly facing cyber threats, and to protect ourselves we need a new generation of talent that grew up using tech. That’s why Director Inglis and I spent the morning with @WilsonTalentCtr & @LCCStars.

Investigators now believe the spill was largely contained at the Wixom Wastewater Treatment plant, & far less of the chemical spilled out than they previously thought. For now, the no-contact order remains in place, so continue to keep people, pets, & plants away from the water.
The state has been aggressively testing the water for hexavalent chromium at dozens of sites throughout the watershed, and right now all of those samples are coming back below the limits to protect both human health and aquatic life.
There’s a lot of frustration around what happened, & it’s well-deserved. We need to know what steps need to be taken at every level – local, state, & federal – to ensure this doesn’t happen again, & that we hold the offenders accountable. Because next time we may not be so lucky.
@MichiganEGLE has issued multiple violations against Tribar, the company responsible for this spill, and criminal investigations are continuing, as we’re seeing more and more evidence this may have been an intentional act.
