My vision for Vermont is to have the best cradle-to-career education system, which includes universally affordable childcare and pre-school for every Vermont family. a stronger commitment from the federal government would significantly accelerate this work. 2/

While my team has not reviewed every part of the BBB legislation – and we appreciate that members of Congress are scrutinizing the fiscal details and evaluating the value of every tax dollar that would be spent – the childcare and preK proposals in BBB are strong and needed. 3/3

We want to be clear: Everyone 18+ should get a booster as soon as possible. If it has been six months since you received your Pfizer or Moderna vaccine, or two months since your Johnson &Johnson vaccine, please make registering for a booster a priority. https://t.co/KaYvmt3eWE

To make getting boosted easier, the online registration will be simplified, and walk-ins are welcome at state-run vaccination clinics. We will remove the longer list of criteria for boosters on the state’s registration website and implement a simplified registration process. 5/

At this point, we need to shift to getting everyone boosted to help reduce the disruption of higher cases and minimize transmission to at-risk Vermonters, particularly through the winter months. 4/

Over the last 30 days, in a time of increasing cases, we’ve seen cases in those 65 and older decline by about 2.5%. This is evidence that boosters are working to keep cases lower high risk age groups and, by further protecting the most at risk, they reduce hospitalizations. 3/

Vermont data shows boosters are already working to keep cases among the vulnerable populations lower, which can decrease pressure on local hospitals. About 50% of Vermonters over the age of 65 have received a booster. 3/

Anyone who has received the Johnson & Johnson vaccine is eligible two months after their first dose. All Vermonters who received a Pfizer or Moderna vaccine are eligible six months after completing their initial vaccination. 2/

I was just at BFA Fairfax to announce the launch of Vermont’s first electric school bus pilot program. Electrifying out transportation sector is critical for reducing greenhouse gas emissions, and it’s a key priority for my Administration. https://t.co/9TLvxOvnwT
