They do not sign up for public service, but we thank them for joining us in this duty. Families should be safe and kept free of danger from violent attacks. Why are we experiencing these attacks and violence?
The nation needs answers to this question. Local and Federal law enforcement must collaborate to address the rise in societal violence that may impact public officials and their families.
After a review—what is needed should be provided--it cannot be solely the members' and elected officials' responsibility to provide for their families security. Speaker Pelosi, all of us are standing with you and your family.

Fear, outrage, and absolutely appalling was my reaction to the news of the senseless, vicious, and violent attack on the beloved husband of Nancy Pelosi.
I wish him a speedy, strong, and complete recovery. Speaker Pelosi, your untiring service to the nation deserves respect, admiration, compassion, and love from the American people.

I visited a school tonight to speak with my constituents, but how outrageous is it that today we faced another school shooting with two people dead and many injured!
Because a 19-year-old with a gun and multiple rounds of ammunition wanted to cause injury and death to others and could do so. It is ridiculous that we have not been able to raise the age for those who could have military-style weapons.
The American People are ready to ban assault weapons and raise the age for weapons of war to 21. Democrats are ready to save lives. Congress needs to move immediately to save more lives.
How many more lives will be lost? How many more children will die? How many more students will have to be lost because this country has 440 million guns, which is more than the number of people in the United States. I am ready to put people over politics. Enough is enough.
