5/5 The #COVID19 pandemic is laying bare the foundational inequities that have plagued our country for decades. We can't pretend that the way things were was ok anymore. It's time for change. It's time to act. Join me in my fight. #JerryforCongress

Our community deserves decisive leadership, especially in the aftermath of this devastating bridge collapse that was caused, directly, by a lack of investment in infrastructure. (2/4)

It is 3:49AM and I’m sitting here with my 4 year old who can’t fall asleep. We’re whispering quietly about our favorite episodes of Peppa the Pig. 🐷 The life of a father.

Today, we caught a glimpse of our justice system working for Ahmaud Arbery. But the fact remains: 3 white men felt compelled to take the law into their own hands against an unarmed Black man. The system aided and abetted their vigilantism. Our fight for justice continues.

So sick employees are forced to work in public spaces because 1) they don't get paid enough in the first place 2) don't get paid sick time and 3) can't afford treatment when sick. That puts everybody at higher risk of exposure

Add to that: stagnant wages mean anywhere from 30-75% live paycheck to paycheck. 1 in 4 Americans put off getting medical care because of costs. More than half have experienced medical financial hardship

But 1 in 4 Americans don't get #PaidSickLeave and remote work isn't a possibility for America's millions of labor, healthcare, hospitality, and retail workers

The CDC recommends #SocialDistancing to prevent the exponential spread of the disease. In response, many companies are recommending that their employees #workremote

Here's why #PaidSickLeave and #M4A are essential to dealing with #COVID19

“That December day, Robinson’s [eviction] attorney, Jerry Dickinson, told the judge he was concerned with keeping “a roof over her head.” “The concern is that the 60-day period may not be enough time for permanent housing through Section 8.” ⚖️ ⚖️ ⚖️ ⚖️ https://t.co/s1j1OHrN0B

When the federal judge you clerked for says this... “I hear people say this is not who we are. I’m not so sure about that. This country was founded on the slave trade," Judge Theodore McKee said. "The Constitution protected it.” #BLM https://t.co/w98P0TxysQ

Also, White House letter refusing to cooperate with impeachment is fraught with incorrect statements of law. President IS NOT entitled to a "trial" to cross-examine, call witnesses, have counsel present, etc. during House impeachment proceedings. He is entitled to a "trial" ...

(16) Ok, finally, assuming the House votes for impeachment and sends the Bill of Impeachment (and articles) to the Senate for trial, Pelosi and co. will have to choose a manager (or multiple managers) to literally present the case for conviction and removal before the Senate...

(18) plate (with some assistance from lawyers and staff from Jerry N.'s committee) to prosecute the case before the Senate. Yes, you heard it hear... The House would be the prosecutor before Senate, and the managers would be, like, the House's lawyers arguing to convince the ...

in the Senate if the House votes to impeach the President. Simply put, there is no fact-finding or evidentiary procedures for the President while this process rests in the hands of the House. He'll get his day to defend himself at the Senate trial.

(11) possible procedural quirk that the House could follow, but it doesn't warrant discussion here (for now). Anyways, if the House votes affirmatively, then a Bill of Impeachment (with the Articles of Impeachment; I'm going to assume with Trump multiple) gets sent to the Senate

(19) Senate to convict. So, we should all start putting together our favorite list of congressmen and congresswomen we want as the managers to prosecute if Nancy and Jerry N. send the Bill of Impeachment to the Senate for trial! I know who I would want. But, better yet, if/when..

Too many politicians haven't spent a moment in poverty or been intimately tied to or associated with Americans struggling to get by everyday. Politicians cut food stamps for the poor, but then cut their donors big corporate tax breaks. https://t.co/bW9g19qWfi

This is textbook tactics of demagogues. Typically, the demagogue rises to power through the electoral process, and the party in power believes it can contain and control the demagogue by embracing him. History shows, and today confirms, this is a mistake. https://t.co/YvKCPaGp3W
