It’s imperative that today’s members of Congress have a deep understanding of the text and history of Article 2 Section 4 of the Constitution, and its implications for preserving our democratic values, norms, rules, laws and institutions. #Dickinson2020 https://t.co/KaA5k0rA0n

The President's reference to "Obama appointed judges" on the Census question debate is extremely dangerous to an independent judiciary. I served a federal clerkship with a federal appeals court judge. Such gross language delegitimizes and damages our institutions.

On Monday, 4 PA universities pledged to purchase solar power. I applaud these institutions who have made progress towards a carbon neutral future. Colleges can lead the way, engaging their students in environmental responsibility and sustainability. https://t.co/CCogAtMAlF

Today, in 1870, Joseph Rainey became the first African American Congressman. Perhaps, in 2020, Western PA will make history by electing its first African American Congressman . . stay tuned! #pa18

I made this recommendation, among others, last week in a policy platform to address police brutality against African Americans. Here: https://t.co/gMnwCFUqVb

Yes, we've now entered a new phase of a constitutional crisis. Trump announcing he won't comply and cooperate with impeachment proceedings means a government breakdown under the Constitution -- we're at a breaking point.

This is unacceptable. We need bold action to combat the climate crisis and we need it now. It’s time for the #GreenNewDeal. https://t.co/rjwLa0ajgt

Big bold progressive actions should be on the table in Congress right NOW: (1) amend 2A to protect only "collective right" as opposed to "individual right" to guns or (2) repeal entire 2A https://t.co/L1QNl6i64Q

I reviewed the Mueller Report this afternoon. William Barr’s previous 4-page summary clearly did not reflect the gravity of the President’s actions... the ball is in Congress’ court.

When acts of white supremacy and violence take place, we expect our leaders to condemn them in the strongest terms. Take notice of who speaks up and who does not.

Yet another example of the President's dehumanizing immigration policies. First, it was building a wall. Now, Trump wants to "release" "an unlimited supply" of immigrants into "sanctuary cities." We are better than this people. #newvoice #newleadership

(7) like “bribery” and “extortion” or “quid pro quo” will help the House managers who will argue the case before the Senate. The managers won’t be required to go down a rabbits hole trying to fit Trump’s actions into the elements of a federal crime.

(8) Instead, they will have the easier task of arguing that President Trump’s actions corrupted and subverted political processes and institutions in ways that clearly were an “abuse of power.” On that note, I would suggest a fellow law professor, @jamie_raskin be named...

(9) one of the managers to present the case before the Senate. He is a progressive warrior, holds a safe blue district, and has the intellect and presence to persuasively argue the case. Oh, and I look forward to being his colleague in the near future.

(7) Trump Admin. officials and former officials push back on subpoenas. Anyways, Nadler and his Committee people and staff will have to make an historic determination (ball is in your court Jerry Nadler!) as to whether the evidence of Trump's actions are impeachable...

(8) If Jerry N. and his committee conclude -- based on facts and law -- that Trump's impeachable acts (it can be more than one, folks!) are sufficient to justify trial, then Jerry puts together a report, sends it to the House stating that one or more Articles of Impeachment...

Here is the House impeachment inquiry report, finding “President Trump, personally and acting through agents within and outside of the U.S. government, solicited the interference of a foreign government, Ukraine, to benefit his reelection.” https://t.co/yjeRxTVzVo

Trump’s proposed cuts to student debt assistance are disgraceful. As an educator, I work with bright students who have high hopes for their futures, only to leave school with crippling debt. We should be forgiving student loans, not making it harder to pay them off. #TrumpBudget
