We also passed funding through the emergency supplemental to help resettle the incredibly brave Afghans. This aid is targeted to Afghans and their families receiving this funding are in the SIV program & are responsible for protecting countless American lives.
Included in the CR was an emergency supplemental for additional Hurricane Ida recovery. This includes relief for families across northern New Jersey who are still dealing with the fallout of the devastating floods that hit our communities earlier this month.
Last night the House passed a critical continuing resolution & avoided the fiscal cliff, which will keep the government funded through December. We have a pandemic to battle & an economy to rebuild. Proud we're protecting lives & livelihoods by skipping the partisan budget games.

As too many of you know, this isn’t the first time our residents have faced these challenges either. When Dana and Justin bought their house in 2008 it wasn't even zoned for flooding. Since then, they have had two huge floods, and this time they are likely to lose everything.
First, we need to make critical investments in flood resilience, not just flooding relief. But we also need to be taking bigger steps, like investing & growing the clean energy economy that will hopefully work to slow some of these climate impacts we’re experiencing. https://t.co/jRRyUEbIC7

Residents are continuing to dig out from after this week's deadly flooding. I’ve been in close contact with mayors & local officials across #NJ11, including Mayor James Damiano & Councilman Al Kahwaty in Little Falls, to ensure their communities have the resources they need.
We’ve made great strides in accessibility since 1990 but we still have work to do. As a member of the @EdLaborCtme, I am fighting to ensure we continue to build on the ADA’s legacy by working for greater employment opportunities and education programs for all Americans.
