Our job as legislators is to protect, fight for, and improve the lives of our constituents, not make their lives more difficult. Let’s do that job.
Yesterday, I introduced two bills that highlight the impact a government shutdown can have on some of our most vulnerable and most deserving Americans: seniors and veterans. https://t.co/LgcrHKXWbJ
Today, I introduced the #GreenBusAct, a bill to fight the #ClimateCrisis by helping cities and states nationwide transition to cleaner public transit systems, including mandating that all new buses purchased with federal funds be zero-emission by 2029. https://t.co/5gM2gyMkU0

In Congress, I will continue to fight to ensure our local businesses can thrive, because when they succeed, Ventura County residents succeed.

This week, I had the pleasure of presenting the Congressional Award to Lee Clyne, a former intern in my Thousand Oaks office. I look forward to seeing where the future takes them! https://t.co/I7anO0BPx6
In particular, Congress must pass the Disaster Recovery Reform Act, which will place a greater emphasis on pre-disaster mitigation. We also need to ensure full funding for FEMA programs.
While Ventura County has faced significant challenges from the #ThomasFire, we are on the road to recovery. I will continue to work tirelessly to ensure that my constituents have the resources they need to rebuild and recover.
Today, I attended a hearing to discuss the devastating 2017 wildfire season in California, and how we can improve the federal response and mitigate against the impacts of future disasters. https://t.co/npbyRJY3wz
