The answer to everything can’t be NO if we are truly committed to keeping or communities safe….. 168 Republicans voted against the Active Shooter Alert Act, which simply establishes an Amber alert type program to swiftly notify people of an active shooter in the area. https://t.co/SqCS0nkxiy
Last week I joined my colleagues for a discussion on The Bipartisan Safer Communities Act. Investing in the mental health and well being of our children has to be part of legislation to prevent gun violence. https://t.co/wRj1Xhlka2
.@SecBecerra was back in Wtby w/ @senchrismurphy, @rosadelauro at Family & Children’s Aid Inc to discuss The Bipartisan Safer Communities Act. While we should not conflate gun violence & mental health, the investments in this bill will greatly benefit communities and save lives. https://t.co/9JQKckHzgl
.@ChrisMurphyCT stopped in Litchfield during his annual walk across Connecticut and I joined him for a town hall. Hearing from constituents is one of the best parts of this job and tonight’s group really gave us a lot of information to take back to Washington and inform our work. https://t.co/NC8CYF4CQ9
I invited @SecBecerra to @PPSNE Wtby to hear from patients, providers, community partners @GovNedLamont about protecting access to safe, affordable reproductive health and preventative services & ensuring the deeply personal decision to start a family is between a woman and her Dr https://t.co/F6fIYbWKXL

The Senate just passed the Honoring our PACT Act, which includes my bill to ensure veterans who helped with the dangerous radioactive cleanup do not have to wait any longer to access the benefits they have earned. https://t.co/y6pM8X6of1 https://t.co/WlXKjHprwV
I chaired the NODO Subcommittee hearing to gain perspectives from SNAP stakeholders & find ways to build on the success of the program. 41M Americans participate in SNAP, & each of their experiences helps us identify how to combat hunger & improve food insecurity outcomes. https://t.co/4gx5PARM2V
Standing with @GiffordsCourage, @RepThompson, & @RepJasonCrow to reinforce the idea that most gun owners want Congress to pass common sense legislation that promotes safety and responsibility. https://t.co/uCOcovBs63
