I love my country, & that means putting its people first. It means empowering all our neighbors to participate fully in our government. Congress right now doesn’t accomplish that goal. It’s no wonder Congressional approval rating has been at or below 30% since 2005. /8

@JonatPhil 100%, and I would add that systemic problems require systemic solutions. We’re all neighbors in this global community, and we should all pitch in. However, if we want all our neighbors to be able to pitch in then we have to make it as easy as possible for them to do so.

This is the 2nd massive fire that’s poisoned our air in North Jersey. Fossil fuel plants, landfills, and trucks also choke our community. Too many co-opt Rev Dr King for their own ends. To me his message was radical love, rooted in what he believed our Redeemer preached: no matter what you look like or where you’re from, we are brothers & sisters. I think living that belief every day is the best way to honor him.
