@jnaatus @DanLevin_inJC It was a logistical problem that I couldn’t foresee. I was basically co-managing the campaign while also being the candidate. Hiring a campaign manager for a broke longshot isn’t possible with 3 mo or fewer. There are other political & electoral ways to push for the change.

@ZaidaGrunes I think we need to do a better job bridging the divisions in our community. Even DT homeowners get hurt when their property taxes go up due to rising prices. Everyone loses in this system with the exception of the uberwealthy that don’t even live here.

The last of the founding fathers was put in the ground 186 years ago. One of the things they did right was to write a frame of government which had change built into it, but they weren’t omniscient prophets. They were human beings like we are. /10

If you want a gov that looks like the electorate, we’ve got to expand our idea of what experiences “qualify” someone for office. Congress has lawyers & staffers to write bills. A US Rep’s job is to have big ideas & make decisions. For that you need solid values, not a JD.

The federal government should be providing funds for these sorts of immediate solutions to human needs, and then get to work on the solutions that meet these needs long term.
