@UrbanJerseyGuy I was unfortunately busy during this particular meeting, but my partner was making comment & I overheard it all. One of the most frustrating public meetings ever. They simply don’t value alternative modes of transit; if they did, they’d figure out the way to make it happen.

@robhisme Of course. I’ve worked on the HBLR, I’ve been in the NYCT Subway tunnels. I’ve got direct & intimate exp w/ our transit infrastructure. I got my hands dirty at the NJT maintenance complex in Kearny. Our transit problems are due to political inaction, not technical issues.

Wall Street didn’t learn a thing from the mortgage crisis that caused the Great Recession, they just moved onto another asset class. We need to ban the collateralization of basic human rights like housing, education, & healthcare. It’s morally & actually bankrupting us. 2/
