I will continue to fight for legislation and policy that benefits the American farmer and consumer. This would expand competition, giving farmers more options to bring their produce to market and alleviate current backlogs, building a stronger food supply chain.
It is my hope that the House and Senate will come together to create a Fiscal Year 2021 bill that is both responsible to the American taxpayer and inclusive of the positive items I listed above.
-$142 million for DNA initiatives to decrease the rape kit backlog -Directive for DOJ to facilitate and cooperate with other federal agencies & private contractors to combat human trafficking and child exploitation -Increased funding for VORTEX-SE, which was zeroed out last year
I will be voting No on the 2021 Fiscal Year spending bill brought to the House of Representatives. While this bill has many worrisome items that have led to my No vote, there are a few good elements I fought for that I will work to retain. These include:
