@TransportDems passed three projects worth over $31M to fund groundbreaking #transit projects, build more bike lanes & improve walkability — crucial as San Diego’s population & economy grow. The passage of the INVEST in America Act will deliver on these transformative projects.
Second, reducing methane emissions is critical to the economic competitiveness of the U.S. natural gas industry. World markets and domestic politics won't tolerate natural gas as a “bridge fuel” unless the industry can credibly prove that it has fixed its methane challenge.
My hope is to build a bipartisan, bicameral coalition around this bill and to work with all relevant stakeholders to meet our common goals. That said, I'm proud to co-lead today's resolution and am glad we are taking an important first step towards reducing methane emissions.

The resolution we are marking up today moves us closer to sufficiently curbing methane emissions. But our work cannot stop here. We must work together to form an ambitious and durable long-term framework.
Third, our companies can lead the world in developing tech. to monitor and reduce methane emissions. Small businesses comprise two-thirds of the methane mitigation industry and represent the best of US innovation, creating economic opportunity & tackling global challenges.
