I’m extremely troubled by the Inspector General’s report on numerous lapses in patient safety and quality of care at the VA Southern Nevada Healthcare System as well as its failure to follow protocol after a veteran’s death by suicide last year.

This is not the standard of care our veterans deserve and I am demanding an immediate briefing from the VA to determine next steps. We cannot allow for failure when it comes to the health and well-being of our veterans.

Indigenous communities in Nevada and across the nation have been disproportionately impacted during the COVID-19 pandemic, and access to health centers is key as they continue to recover.
