@BeckyIB I know that the purpose of welfare is to help ppl when they fall on hard luck. But shouldn’t that also mean that its goal is to help ppl get past those hard-luck stretches so they can get back on their feet & once again provide 4 their family? Of course it should, &work does that

There're no magic solutions to gun violence. There're many solutions. For one, we'd shift our collective perspective & stop thinking of gun control as a political battle & instead see gun violence as a public-health issue. This way, many of the underlying symptoms can be treated.

Gun violence is an urgent, complex, and multifaceted problem. It requires multifaceted solutions.

Clearly, what i stated is lost in translation. I, for one, am a devout pro gun and pro Constitutional liberties. Treating gun violence as a public health pertains to the individuals committing the violence involving a firearm. Not infringing on your right to bare arms.

Reducing the incidence of gun violence requires interventions through multiple systems, including legal, public health, public safety, community, and mental health. Like I said, if we approach it as a public health, it'll address the underlying causes.

Not to mention drug abuse, socioeconomic, dysfunction in the families, youth delinquency....and other symptoms...

The licensing of handgun purchasers, background check requirements for all gun sales, & close oversight of retail gun sellers (can reduce the diversion of guns to criminals.)

Since 1965, Head Start has been a sinkhole for taxpayer money & an ineffective ed program for kids. And yet, those pushing for free preschool & childcare want to model 100s of billions of dollars in the $3.5T spending bill. This isn't "Build Back Better." It's bureaucracy plan.

America has always welcomed immigrants seeking the promises & opportunities of the American Dream.  The debate isn't about whether we'd allow immigration - it’s about how we do so in a way that protects our sovereignty, respects the rule of law, & is beneficial to all Americans.
