Accurate and reliable tests to identify specific bacteria can assist doctors in choosing the right treatment for the right infection, which can reduce overuse of antibiotics that are known to be ineffective and help in the fight against antimicrobial resistance.

General Mills is conducting a voluntary national recall of five-pound bags of Gold Medal Unbleached Flour with a better if used by date of April 20, 2020. The recall is because of potential presence of Salmonella. FDA is investigating and working with General Mills on the recall.
