I appreciate that the administration took into account that Alaska timber operators have suffered immensely under the draconian 20-percent Chinese timber tariff rates.
The coronavirus pandemic threatens timber jobs and could potentially bankrupt mills that operate in rural communities near our national forests. This @USDA announcement will give these essential businesses some needed relief. https://t.co/Gx3YX7V5ez
In the remote town of Utquiagvik, the community has exchanged hunting for eggs outside in the snow for searching for eggs and Easter pictures in the windows of local homes—a healthy, safe, and creative way to keep spirits high and traditions alive. https://t.co/lw0mbAmf8O

This can only be accomplished by engaging in meaningful, robust, and – given the nature of this pandemic crisis – rapid government-to-government consultation.
Implementation of the CARES Act, which was recently signed into law, will require many federal agencies to work with Tribes over complicated new authorities and deployment of critical funding.
This federal assistance will allow small businesses to cover costs of interest on mortgages, rent, & utilities. On April 10th, the program will become available for independent contractors & self-employed individuals– including fishermen, cruise industry professionals, & more.
HAPPENING SOON: @SenDansullivan & I are hosting a teletown hall to answer questions from Alaskans regarding the current #COVID19 outbreak and to discuss federal efforts in response to the pandemic. Listen here: https://t.co/ktH6ON0er9
As of March 25th, only 11% of Alaskans have participated the #2020Census. Filling out the Census is simple, easy, and can be done online. It only takes a few minutes, but will help shape the next 10 years. Help us make sure #AlaskaCounts.
#CensusDay is a reminder of how the Census is a critical component of our democracy and ensures the fair allocations of funding for vital federal programs in areas such as healthcare& education. Visit https://t.co/Ibk7TxzVmE to fill out your census.
On top of that, if and when the @AlaskaNationalGuard is activated, the CARES Act will ensure they will be resourced appropriately.
