@codylockyear @MarcMerrill You just have to be a serious candidate. I’ve put a bunch of my own money into it, and made smart decisions, and am poised to reap the rewards of that. It can be done if the system isnt set up only for two choices.

@IOMcGehee You could argue it’s legitimate and important in theory (tho I might disagree), but in practice lundermines democracy.

@OuterBoroRoyal @trtx84 @RWPUSA That’s a binary way of thinking about it. I’m an independent candidate as well, and my plan is not to caucus with either party. You don’t have to. But what if there’s an offer you can’t refuse - say billions for your House

@OuterBoroRoyal @trtx84 @RWPUSA Should I let my own personal ideals supersede what’s best for my constituents? Obviously the devil is in the details, but that’s why you never say never.

@trtx84 @OuterBoroRoyal @RWPUSA @OuterBoroRoyal, I understand how the two corrupt parties have set things up. Again, saying no is an option. If I don’t get any committee spots, that means more time to spend in my district. And @trtx84, I’m sure I don’t ge

@trtx84 @OuterBoroRoyal @RWPUSA I just think @RWPUSA deserves the benefit of the doubt. He and any independent candidates (incl. me) deserve to be judged on the merits of their candidacies. I’m in CA, and we have a “blanket,” top two primary - all candida

@trtx84 @OuterBoroRoyal @RWPUSA Together. The top two vote-getters move on to the general. In my heavy R district, no D candidate can win in the general. Would you rather have a horrible R representing us in Congress or a reasonable, open-minded centrist

@trtx84 @OuterBoroRoyal @RWPUSA My loyalty is to the Constitution and the constituents of my district. I’m willing to sacrifice my own preferences for them if necessary.

@trtx84 @OuterBoroRoyal @RWPUSA All I said is he’s a straight shooter more often than not. As was the case when he called BS on the Intel Committee’s report. Context, my friend.

@trtx84 @OuterBoroRoyal @RWPUSA Collins is perhaps the best R in the Senate. Sasse seems well-meaning and independent-minded, but votes for what he believes, which lines up with R orthodoxy. @RWPUSA saying good things about them is hardly sinister, unless

@trtx84 @OuterBoroRoyal @RWPUSA As I said, context. Which means judge each situation on its merits. Sounds like he’s forever tainted in your mind. And I’m sure he doesn’t care what either of us think. Especially since he’s stepping down.

@SusanVermazen @electpaulmartin Susan, welcome to the “club”! Integrity over ideology is how I’ve always voted, and it’s part of my congressional campaign to unseat another entrenched incumbent. Centrist independents like me can win in solid R or D distri

@jkempcpa Election reform is badly needed as one of many fixes to our system. The two parties will fight that to no end, as they did in my state of CA, but voters chose reform anyway. Our top-two primary has been a step in the right direction.
