I am that leader. And given the opportunity, I am going to fight like hell for #NYO3. I know our struggles. I know our community and our people. I’m going to do everything in my power to fight for a better future for all of us.

We need leaders that KNOW what these struggles are like and have felt the overwhelming pressures of day-to-day life for the average American.

We don’t need billionaires in Congress who don’t know what most people in this country struggle with. Who think living paycheck to paycheck is just a news story — not a real-life experience.

As a single mom, I’ve felt the weight of the world on my shoulders, struggling every day to provide everything boys deserve. Working long hours and worrying about bills wasn’t a story I read about – it was my life.

This campaign is about the people of #NY03. We deserve better leaders who will listen to us and advocate for our needs. I got tired of feeling like I was screaming into a void and that’s why I’m running to represent us.

I am running to represent #NY03 because our district deserves representation that reflects our community. I got tired of seeing elected officials that didn’t understand my experiences as a woman of color, as a Muslim woman, and as a single mom.

You can’t drink alcohol until you’re 21, but you can by an assault weapon at 18. Make it make sense.
