THE ROLE OF FLUID FLOW IN VALVULOGENESIS Early cardiac cushions are located in the atrioventricular canal (AV) of the embryonic heart. These cushions are populated with mesenchymal cells and are the primordia for the cardiac valves and membranous septa. A
