Bill Summary
Cable Consumer Rights Act of 2005 - Repeals provisions of the Telecommunications Act of 1996 which prohibit the Federal Communications Commission (FCC) and local cable franchising authorities from regulating the rates for cable television service. Reinstates cable rate regulatory provisions of the Communications Act of 1934 in effect before the enactment of such provisions.
