Bill Summary
Cooling-Off Period Elimination Act of 2017 This bill makes a state or local law enforcement agency ineligible to receive federal funds under a Department of Justice law enforcement grant program if it has in effect a cooling-off period. A cooling-off period is a period of time following an officer-involved shooting during which investigators are prohibited from communicating with an officer involved in the shooting.
