  • No bill has been introduced. Seeking to at least maintain funding levels for PL 480 and McGovern-Dole International Food for Education and Child Nutrition programs in the FY 2016 agriculture appropriations bills, in both the House and Senate
  • Seeking introduction of the Global Food Security Act in the Senatate, which has not yet been introduced, and in the House, which was introduced as H.R. 1567 by Reps. C. Smith and McCollumn. Support this legislation, but seek some improvements to assure there are more opportuntities to use funding to improve food security, agriculture and nutrition in areas where hunger and poverty are twin challenges. FY 2016 State-Foreign Operations Appropriations House and Senate bills, Request no reductions in Feed the Future (agriculture and food security) and International Disaster Assistance funding, higher levels for Nutrition programs, and assuring grants and cooperative agreements are made available to private voluntary organizations for conducting food security and agriculture programs in poor communities.
