  • Caring Across Generations will be developing its own legislation for introduction and will also be commenting on Health Care Reform, proposed legislation by Rep. Neal and Boustany tentatively called the Long Term Care Affordability and Security Act, attempts to repeal the CLASS Act. Other pieces of legislation include: S.Res.453, Expressing the sense of the Senate that supporting seniors and individuals with disabilities is an important responsibility of the United States, and that a comprehensive approach to expanding and supporting a strong home care workforce and making long-term services and supports affordable and accessible in communities is necessary to uphold the right of seniors and individuals with disabilities in the United States to a dignified quality of life; H. Res. 453, "Expressing the sense of the Senate that supporting seniors and individuals with disabilities is an important responsibility of the United States, and that a comprehensive approach to expanding and supporting a strong home care workforce and making long-term services and supports affordable and accessible in communities is necessary to uphold the right of seniors and individuals with disabilities in the United States to a dignified quality of life." H.R. 1173, Fiscal Responsibility and Retirement Security Act of 2011; S. 2252, the Rebuild America Act. Caring Across Generations has also organized comments to the Department of Labor in response to proposed changes to the companionship and live-in worker regulations under the Fair Labor Standards Act; and H.R.3066, Companionship Exemption Protection Act.
