• Report to Client on final FY2024 CDS requests; file multiple programmatic and CDS funding requests for FY2025 for NOAA programmatic marine fisheries surveys, data collection and research portfolio including: regional councils and commissions; interjurisdictional grants; data collection, surveys and assessments; electronic monitoring, salmon management, groundfish surveys on the West Coast and Alaska; and EIS needs for the West Coast States; advocate for House/Senate FY 2025 marine fisheries programs funding request letters.
• Provide comprehensive services to organize/attend and prepare documents for numerous Client meeting in Washington, DC Provide feedback to Hill staff on WRDA language related to aquatic invasive species and watercraft inspection stations Provide feedback to Hill staff on improving the fishery disaster process Provide ongoing information to Client on Administration developments re: offshore wind energy sites and environmental impacts Provide lobbying support for technical correction in FY 2024 Interior Appropriations Bill on proper account for USGS funding of fisheries-related research Continue to provide Client with ongoing intelligence on several key regional marine issues including: OSW energy development & impacts on whales; sanctuary proposal in the Bering Sea/Aleutian Islands; WA-AK chinook salmon status and SRKW population issues; CA/OR sea otter reintroduction; and MSA reauthorization, Hill staff changes, NOAAs 2023 IRA spend plan, MMPA issues; fishery disaster reform, Aquatic Invasives Species funding and project awards, SSL ESA salmon predation, availability for fisheries-dependent ports to seek MARAD grant funding, aquaculture provisions considered in reauthorization of USDA farm programs, Harmful Algal Blooms legislation/funding, final rule on vessel electronic monitoring, Federal Fish Passage Grant Programs and awards, Mitchell Act hatcheries, Columbia River Basin restoration.

It can be tricky to figure out how much an organization spent on a particular lobbying engagement. The law only requires lobbyists to report the amount they were paid for federal lobbying each quarter rounded to the nearest $10,000—and if it's less than $3,000 in a given quarter (or less than $13,000 for organizations with in-house lobbyists), they don't have to disclose it at all. Plus, some organizations include spending that doesn’t belong in the report—for instance, money spent lobbying state governments or other legal work.
