Hanabusa told Civil Beat that she does not support SOPA in its current form. But she also still believes in finding a legislative approach to prevent "counterfeiting on foreign websites." The key is finding a solution that doesn't lead to "the slippery slope of government intrusion," she said.

Hanabusa spokeswoman: "This is by far the most constituent correspondence we have received on one issue since being in office."

An update to the DC808's blog post states: An earlier version of this post said that Hanabusa “believes SOPA goes too far.” A spokesman for the congresswoman tells DC808 that it’s more accurate to say that Hanabusa believes it “may go too far.”
