Cephalon
Cephalon, acquired in 2011 by Israeli-based Teva Pharmaceutical Industries Ltd., agreed to pay a $425 million settlement in 2008 for marketing Actiq, Gabitril, and Provigil for uses not approved by the Food and Drug Administration.
Cephalon started reporting payments to physicians as of the beginning of 2009. In the first year, it aggregated payments for consulting and speaking into one amount. Subsequently, the company has broken out payments for speaking, consulting, educational items, meals, research and travel.
In 2011, Cephalon was acquired by Teva Pharmaceutical Industries, but it continues to post data about payments on its website.
